I will resurrect Ghana’s highlife music – Koo Kyei

Ghanaian highlife artist Koo Kyei has disclosed that he will resurrect highlife music in Ghana.
According to the member of the defunct group “positive vibe”, Ghana highlife is dead and the new generation of highlife musicians are going to resurrect it. For him, he will lead this campaign in resurrecting genre.
In an exclusive interview with, the ‘baby’ singer said, ” When we talk of music genres dominating Ghana music, highlife music is out. No D.J is even willing to play it even if you pay ‘payo’. Although there are few ones who trying hard to promote it but their input is not felt. so as it stands now highlife genre in Ghana is dead.
“there is no love even among the highlife musicians like other genres. Musicians from other genres will call their colleagues for collaborations, tweet their work and sometimes even link each other up for shows but this doesn’t happens with  highlife genre” he added.
Touching on how he is going to resurrect the the genre, the singer stated, ” there are a lot of good highlife musicians in Ghana especially with the new crop of young stars but we are nothing without love. We produce most of the quality songs in Ghana which needs platform to exhibit it. So am going to lead the campaign for my brothers in the genre to come together as one with much love so we have a lot of highlife collaborations, help in promoting each other work and even host have full highlife concert. With this, i think we can also take over the music industry.
Koo Kyei also disclossed that he currently the king of highlife in the Easter region. He has grab three nominations in the Itel Eastern Music Award with his banger ‘baby’ featuring Paa Kwesi.
